  • Folders don´t show in import window

Posted by Lars Hogeus on April 18, 2017 at 8:05 am

Hi, when I open the import window, I can´t see the card folders.

The import window shows all the files from different cards, FS5, C300 etc. which means all files like thumbnails etc. Thousands of files in every project.

Very annoying, what can I do?

    Thanks, Lars

Sounds like FCPX is for some reason treating the drive you are importing from as one giant camera card. What is the folder structure? Check there’s nothing at the root level that would make it appear to be a camera card.

You´re right Jeff, I can see now that FCPX treats it as a Media folder instead of just folder.

I can´t figure out why. There is nothing special with the folder. I tried to change the name, but that did not change anything.

    Thank you Gregg!

One of the folders was not renamed and was still named XDROOT. When I gave that folder a better name, it all worked out!

    Thanks, Lars

still have a problem though with importing P2 cards, see my other post…
