Animate text from light weight to bold.
Posted by Marius Crowne on November 9, 2011 at 2:57 pmI’m just wondering if there is an east way to animate text from a light font weight to bold.
Thanks very much.

November 9, 2011 at 8:38 pmDuplicate your text layer.
Make the duplicate bold.
Apply Effect>Transitions>Linear Wipe to both layers.
Animate and adjust as needed.
🙂
Alternatively, you could thicken the stroke on the layers.– The Great Szalam

November 2, 2015 at 4:36 pmI don’t know why that tutorial has you animate the opacity of the stroke layer style instead of the thickness. Surely that would make more sense.
Also, you could convert the text to shape layers and animate the stroke there with a bit more control.
