  4K .DAT File?

  Hi, I will be using FCPX in the near future once I receive my ordered mac to import/edit 4K video from my Sony PXW-X70. I downloaded the Private file folder from my SDXC card on an external hard drive. I see that the file extension is a .dat file. My question is, will FCPX import this? I’m not having much luck finding information in regards to this format extension. I don’t even see it from the following Apple link https://support.apple.com/kb/PH12754?locale=en_US Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you, Ray

  Typically FCPX requires the complete card structure ie not a single file in order to ingest properly so if .DAT is actually the entire card contents and it’s a supported camera you should be fine.
