How to Author a Blu-Ray
Amazing how difficult this is.
I have searched Creative Cow and Google, etc., can’t seem to get
simple answers.“Share” is not working so now I am looking for Blu-ray authoring software.
All I want to do is author a blu-ray disk.
Anybody?

Why isn’t “Share” working?

Share to blu-ray goes to 66% and then stops, but I don’t want to
trouble shoot that. Those disks are limited anyways – not much of a
menu, chapters, the fast forward button doesn’t seem to work, etc.Very limited.
I can share all kinds of other things like Master File, so Share works
for creating files just fine. Want to create a file and burn it
to blu-ray. I have a good Pioneer blu-ray burner.Would rather use Toast or Encore or ??? to make a fully
functioning blu-ray with chapters.Looking for best suggestion.

I use Encore and it works really well for Bluray

I second that. I just authored 11 Blu-rays from source material from FCPX. Exported a ProRes and authored in Adobe Encore.

Downloaded Toast before I saw these posts from you guys.
My 119 GB file is getting compressed to about 20GB in Toast for a
25GB capacity disk. Looks like it will take a couple or
3 hours.

The few times I’ve found myself burning a disc in FCPX, I remember the only real issue I’d come across was when I’d add a custom background to the main menu. Either FCPX thought I wanted one that was not actually available or the file was too big or any number of other subtle reasons. The biggest problem (other than crashing) was that FCPX would give no indication why it did. Something to double check before the next attempt?

I am returning Toast. Not good for Blu-ray.
Can you make custom menus with Encore?
Is it simple to use with a Pro-res file from X?Thanks,
