My computer crashes when exporting video from FCPX 10.2.3 to Compressor 4.4.2. I’m able export using share button within FCPX, but not Send to Compressor button. I recently updated to Security update 2016-001and Digital Camera Raw version 6.1 earlier this month. I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013) Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7 I’m running Operating System X El Capitan Version 10.11.6 Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB. Any help / suggestions greatly appreciated!!

Try to Share as ProRes Master File, then import the file to Compressor. It’s an extra step or two, but it’s always worked for me.

Thanks, Gerry. Good tip, but I’m curious why when sending to compressor, it crashes my computer now.

I apologize, but the answer is beyond my knowledge level. I can drive the car, but I can’t fix the fuel injection system.

That said, these questions come to mind: What are the Project settings? What type of video? Are you using a lot of plugins?

I’ve been sharing or exporting as a ProRes file and importing that file to Compressor since Final Cut Pro 5. It just works.
