Workflow for adding photos
First off I am a hack;
I’ve read through 2 instruction books,
subscribe to to online tutorials like Mac Pro video,
and have shamelessly lurked on your threads in the past,
enough to make a few music videos with multi cams.I’m using 10.03 on an iMac with OS X 10.8.5
I’m doing a DVD for my landlady where she is interviewing her grandson.
so I made a multi cam clip from the two camera angles
and blended the mics on to that track.
she then wanted me to add a symphony from her grandfather, which worked well as a separate audio track,
and finally she wanted me to add gaps of a few seconds each in the multi-cam
and superimpose some family photos.The audio and video and gaps all work great;
when I place the photos on top I want only them to be seen,
and of course right now they are merely composited on top of the multi cam.
if I do an overwrite edit, that solves the video problem, but i lose the audio from the multi-cam.
if I try to break apart the audio, the audio tab shows unsupported clip and grays out the option to detach.Only workaround I stumbled upon, is to use blade edits to edit the multi cam clip at the edges of the photo
and then control V the underlying clips and reduce the opacity to zero,
which feels ultra amateur…
