Post-production zoom?
I’m back with yet another question (an almost embarrassingly simple one).
This video has a lot of zooms done in editing, and I was wondering what would be the most efficient way to do this in FCPX? Zooms such as at 0:49, 0:57, 1:02, etc.

I know the higher quality the video is recorded in, the more zoom you can do without it losing quality, but what is the best way to do these kinds of zooms? Are there any plugins I can use for this?

There is some really cool techniques in that.
What it looks like to me is a combination of methods. Some of the moves look like they were done in camera on a crane or steadycam. Some look like VFX stitching/morphing to a different camera with a tighter lens.
I’m guessing here but it also looks like they had multiple cameras with different focal lengths on the same rig. Some of these looks could be achieved by shooting 4K or higher and then making a zoom effect for a 1080p finish. You don’t want to zoom in past where the lens starts to look soft.
Not all lenses are great for that. Pixels are not created equal.

I agree that shooting in 4K and delivering in HD would give you plenty of pixels to do zooms like this in post. That would be the easiest way to achieve this without loosing quality.
