Some more notes
SCC is for the NTSC world.
Compressor with the MXF Apple component can’t create embedded subtitles with the MXF. There are some US broadcasters (like Fox) who also accept EBU TTML as sidecar files.
EBU is European but in a modern world DF and NDF frame rates don’t matter any more.
With FCPX use a simple (sub)title template which doesn’t “eat” too much memory. The Apple Basic Title is hungry.
Many users see speed and memory improvements if the subtitles are in a compound clip.
This has to do with FCPX’s memory handling – it keeps undo memory buffer for each and every title with all settings.
