    Hi all,

I shot a conference with a sony EX3 and i’m trying to import the footage to fcpx. I’ve installed a driver and also the xcam transfer tool from sony, but i can’t seem to get them to work.

Do you have any suggestions? Have a deadline for thursday so getting a bit worried now 🙁

    Many thanks,

    Russell

The latest content browser should work. It costs $20.

Fcpx now supports Sony cameras out of the box (since 10.2 I think), no reason to install drivers.

You can also simply drag and drop the MXF files in to fcpx.

XDCam working direct import from Browser with FCPX 10.2.2. EX-1 in my case. Just keep the BPAV folders intact, navigate to them and they show up as individual clips. Requires Yosemite 10.10.4 or above, I’m on 10.10.5. Re-wraps as .mov .

Thanks Jim, i couldn’t get them to work but i ended up getting XDcam transfer working. I had to open the disk image, right click the .pkg file and open the contents. I then installed xdcamtransfer.pkg and it works fine now!

It’s strange that i couldn’t get the files to work, seems most are saying they’re native to fcpx!
