  • Add clips to Favorite Folders.

    Hi,

I am editing a wedding in FCP X and I made a few “Favorite” folders. I want to put certain clips in them. For Example I made a “Favorite” folder for Cocktail Hour and I put all of the clips in there. I made a “Favorite” folder for ceremony and I put all of the ceremony clips in that one.

Since this was shot on DSLR, I was going through the clips and there were a few Cocktail Hour clips that were separate from all of the other ones.

My question is, how can I get those few Cocktail Hour clips into the “Favorite” folder that I already made for Cocktail Hour?

    Thanks.

You select a clip or a range, apply a keyword e.g. “Cocktail Hour”. the clips are magically in the “Cocktail Hour” keyword collection.

Alternatively, create an event called “Cocktail Hour”, drag the appropriate clips into that event, make clips or ranges as favourites, choose to only view favourites in the browser menu.

FCPX doesn’t use folders to organise clips the way I think you’re trying to do it.
