Built a demo reel for a client in FCPX, and I want the end product to be a self-looping BluRay Disk. Load ablank BD into the burner drive, all good. I select-all, mark my in and out on the timeline, go to SHARE> BluRay.

In the controls for that process, I see a button to enable looping as an on-screen option; I enable that, and I set the initial action to be play upon loading.

OK’ing that, FCPX asks me where to put the resulting file, which is on my scratch video drive. So far, all good. Hit the OK and it renders, but does not burn to the BD.

It just renders an IMG file to the scratch drive.

Dragging that file onto the blank BluRay icon and burning that, gives me a disk the BD player does not recognize or play. I want a self-loading,self-looping BD.

I’m close, but not quite where I want to be – can you help?

You should have had your BD drive as choose instead of your hard drive.

“You should have had your BD drive as choose instead of your hard drive.”

Oddly, it never gave me that option.

[Dave Jenkins] “You should have had your BD drive as choose instead of your hard drive.”

Exactly. If you select HARD DRIVE as your “Output Device” then you get an image.

[Mark Suszko] “Oddly, it never gave me that option.”

Then it’s not recognizing the drive, which seems rather unlikely if Disk Utility is.
