So, new program, new problems. I am pretty good at FCP 6, but with a new Mini and Yosemite I got the FCPX 10.2.1.

Thought that it would be an easy one, being an Apple product. But …

    1. Created a Library called 2015 Music.
    2. In this Library “2015 Music” I created an Event “Fiddlers”.
    3. Imported two video clips and one audio file to the event “Fiddlers”.
    4. I selected these three media files and chosed “New Multicam clip” from the File Meny.
    5. Only one video clip and one audio file is shown in the Angle Editor. Skuld hav been two videos and one audio.
    6. The missing video is in fact appended to first video!

What do I do wrongly here?

Are you using audio for sync and is there matching audio in all clips?

Also check that you have a unique angle assigned to each clip.

    Problem solved!

I had the same camera name assigned to both video angles!

Changed that and now I get the three angles in the angle viewer!

Another problem I solved on my own:

Found out that I must have a Project selected to get an empty timeline. Now I am able to cut between the angles.

    —————

Coming from FCP6 I find the FCPX confusing. The windows in the window are untitled, the libraries – events – projects stuff is not easy to understand in the beginning. I have had two lengthy calls to Apple support without getting problems solved.

But I am sure it will be easier with some more practice.

    Thanks for the help!

“FCPX didn´t work for me – but I got advice and now I am happy – for the time being …”

I mean that I am likely to not understand a lot sometime in the future.

    Great help, this forum.
