  After installing 3rd party effects

  After purchasing and installing 3rd party effects for FCPX can the installation files be moved off of my regular hard drive to a backup drive? (The effects are in my Motion File.)This probably seems like an incredibly dumb question but I back up everything.

  If you’re talking about the installer files- sure. Just don’t delete the installed apps or effects if any.

  I’d keep the installer around unless it’s one of the companies that lets you re-download at any time. Motionvfx is an example. And even then there’s always a chance of the company going out of business. Just depends on your comfort level.
