  Access video files into FCP X without importing.

  Hello,

  I’d like to access video files from an external hard drive into FCP X without importing it onto my laptop’s hard drive. Is this possible? I have not been having any luck. Thanks in advance for your help.

  Sure- change Preferences>Import to Files>Leave in Place.
