  Logging clips with in and out at import?

  If I am working on a complex edit in a professional workflow I need to have the clips named as they appear in the shot list that was created from the storyboard and script. for example
  001int_scene01_take_47
  002int_scene01_take_32 etc

  Naming the clips like this means that they are already in order and I can select them all and put them on the timeline and voila I have an assembly edit.
  Is there a plugin for FCP X that will allow you to log the clips with in and outs on import like FCP 7?

  Or is there another way to do this?

  I have not seen anybody ask this. Am I missing something?

  At the moment I am still using FCP 7 to log and in and out the clips on transfer to ProRes.

  If you are coming directly off a card or camera archive, you can go through each clip in the import window and set in and out points. You would of course have to go in and name the clips in the browser, but the in/outs would already be set. Hope this helps.

  Thanks I am familiar with that way of working I was just hoping to name the clips before import. Seems to make sense to me that way around. Also the interface is set up like that in FCP 7 for log and transfer.
