  FCP X media mangement.

  In FCP X Where do set where are the capture files, render files, etc. stored. I still do some tape based capture (HDV, DV and DVCAM)

  Select your lIbrary in the Browser and open the inspector (command-4).

  You will see the media locations. Click the “Modify Settings” button and choose where to store your media.

  The default is inside the library, for which, you can always consolidate the media out of it.
