Multi-cam Technique Suggestions Needed….
I’ve been struggling with this for a while & searches haven’t helped.
I edit demo videos with anywhere from 2-4 camera range that usually start out to be about 10-20 minutes long.
Often times during the demos there are pauses in the 3-30 second range while the talent works with their hands to demonstrate what they are talking about.
The common issue is that often times the there is minimal activity during the narration (boring B-roll), and then minimal narration during the good B-roll)….
Basically, they say “now I’m going to do XYZ”. Then they do XYZ.
So, we end up doing a mini-montage while they are describing XYZ.The problems I run into have to do with the magnetic timeline & syn’cing audio after the edits when we continue on into the demo.
I’ve dried seperating the audio & cutting it up (below primary), cutting video on secondary, etc. etc.
Every way seems to to take 10x longer than FCP7 (excuse the pun).. Anyone have any working solutions?
