No – there are no 3D Models.
You can see the track of the vacuum cleaner robots in this clip.How can i do this?

In the sample the whole thing was built in a 3D program which made it easier for them. Since you are working with real footage you will have the added work of rotoscoping the image you have something following.
I have never seen this tutorial but it can be of help. It is older so know that the new motion tracking capability inside of AE is much better then it was.

Or this tutorial will probably be even better: https://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/alien_surface/ It goes into motion tracking (I’m assuming your shot is moving) and rotoscoping. The one thing it doesn’t cover is having a line follow the object. If you need tips on that let me know. Hope this is of help.

sorry – there must be an easier solution.
this was a testvideo from a hardware-homepage – the will never use 3D-Programms or rotoscope the robots for that. this would be too expensive for a simple test video.take a look at the sample video in full resolution – this looks like a multiply effect.
I was thinking about a solution with a overlayer or something like that.

i was testing this filter already. but its very very computational intensive.
The echo filter makes a lot of Clips again and again. For a Video with 20 minutes – impossible. (you need at least 1000 echos)The other example ist just exposed – no animated echos

You have to keep in mind that the example you posted is a 3D animation. Because of that they can easily work in layers and have much more flexibility then you will.
