FCPX stuck in a render loop?
Hi, FCPX is constantly rendering, going from 0% to 100% over and over. See video:
It only does it when in a certain project. Has anyone had this issue? Two different Apple support tech were of no help.

What have you done to troubleshoot so far?

I had this happen in a project this week. A constant loop doing a background render. Deleting the render files didn’t help. From memory, I selected all, cut it from the timeline (cd-x), deleted all render files, then pasted the timeline back.
I suspect a bug.

Happened to me too. I cut and pasted everything to a new timeline. That solved it.

I’m sorry I should have stated what I did to troubleshoot. I did the following:
Trashed preferences
Deleted all the render files and re-rendered
Repaired disk permissions
Waited 22 hours to see if it was just rendering
Disabled a plugin (CoreMelt Lock & Load) that I thought may be the culprit
Copied all clips to a new project, in a new libraryI just tried cutting everything from the timeline, deleting render files, then pasting back, to no avail.

What is your source material and do you have any plugins or motion templates (besides the ones you mention)?
What happens if you turn background render off?

I can say in my case it was an endless loop trying to render the standard FCPX cross fade. Turning of background render obviously stopped rendering and thus stopped the loop but a manual render would also loop once it hit that one dodgy transition.
As has been said, cutting and pasting the entire project seemed to fix it. It is possible that I did create a new project to paste into but I don’t remember doing that – I think I just pasted back into the existing one.

The render loop is usually cause by disabled clips, audio transitions and fades, and titles. Try close and reopen fcpx and toggle on and off all your disabled clips. If that doesn’t work move on to audio transitions, then fades, then titles. Simply toggling them on and off with “V” will work. you should have to delete the fade or title or transition.
