  Cant import with alpha channel

  I have keyed some footage and when I import it to fcp it recognizes the alpha channel perfectly but if I import it to AE it doesn’t recognize the alpha? any suggestions.

  Tell us exactly what you’re doing and how you’re determining that the alpha channel isn’t recognized.

  What format is the footage? What version of After Effects?

  If it’s ProRes 4444 footage in After Effects CS5, see this.

  I guess I had never had to reimport 444 with alpha before, Im blown away that I never knew about this, thats nuts!

  Glad they fixed it in CS5.5.
