  • Pixelated Video after importing into FCPX

I am trying to import video from an SD card into Final cut Pro x. The video was shot with a DSLR camera. The video comes out pixelated after importing it into the program. However, if I open up a clip in quicktime the video looks fine. I am assuming the issue lies within fcpx.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

One would need a screenshot to understand what you mean by “pixelated”. There’s certainly no immediate reason why a clip should look any different between the two apps.

The videos aren’t pixelated, just the playback, and that leads me to think it’s an issue with your playback settings. Click the light switch next to your zoom setting in the upper right corner of the viewer and set “Quality” to “Better Quality”. If you’re trying to play back unrendered effects, or are pushing your machine too hard it will automatically drop the resolution to give you real time playback. If you set it to better quality and still have issues it’s likely a problem with the power of the workstation you’re using.

    Hi.
I am working with Final Cut Pro X 10.3.4 and i imported a video file that is showing me pixelation too.

With vlc and quicktime runs the video good without any problem (i checked frame by frame).

Final Cut Pro X 10.3.4 shows me this pixelation even in the preview import window.
I get the same result with the video in the project window then.

What may be the problem here?
