  FCP X – Record Live to Macbook pro using Panasonic HVX200

  Hello, Please help: I am recording a live weekly show, and need to do it through my 1394 (firewire) to pc.
  I am not able to record footage to pc through firewire. Everything seems to be configured correctly in camera (Panasonic HVX200). While on stand-by (pc mode) the image is played on the media import screen, but when I switch to mcr mode (on camera), my firewire connection goes from 1394 device to 1394 device disconnect. I also tried importing in pc mode, while it seems to be importing to my MacBook Pro OS X 10.9.3 (2.3 ghz, intel core i7, 8gb, 1600 mhz, ddr3) I can’t find file.

  You won’t be able to crash record with that combo unfortunately. You’d either need to record to card on the HVX and transfer or get something like: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/hyperdeckshuttle or something from https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/ultrastudiothunderbolt
