  Loaded prefs with Pref manager now FCPX won’t see my ProRes originals – says “missing proxy”

  Hi there!
  I wondered if anyone might have some time to help me out? I’m in some dire straits…..

  i’m cutting a project with some original RED files and some original ProRes LT files (these are not proxies – they were shot & imported as such) . I’m cutting in “Optimized/Original” mode – as i did not bother making proxies of my ProRes LT originals like i did with my red originals. After replacing my preferences due to buggy timeline behavior, now all my ProRes LT files are offline & FCPX will not let me switch to Optimized/Original” mode.

  Of course i am in a time crunch and would appreciate any way out of this. (Loading my backup resulted in the same behaviour by the way)

  I am cutting with FCPX 10.1.1 on an iMac 27″ 3.4Ghz, 20Gb Ram, on OSX 10.9.2 – using thunderbolt to an external drive

  I am a bit of an FCPX noob…

  Try and fresh preferences trash instead of a reload.

  Yes sorry i did try that too.

  Can’t risk continuing like this – I’m biting the bullet, giving up 2 days work & going back to Media Composer. Will try FCPX again in a few years time or on projects where workflow my is more standard – eg. one single type of media with one specific workflow used) i feel FCPX thinks my ProResLT files are proxies or something – can’t risk it happening again.

  FCPX doesn’t see LT files as proxy.

  If you can’t change from proxy to optimized, something else is wrong.
