Is there a way to make the timeline zoom to fit the area I have selected? I use Z+Shift+Option all the time in 7 but can’t seem to find it here in X (1.0.8). Am I missing something?

I don’t believe that key combo is in X. But you can switch to the zoom tool and drag over the area you want to zoom to.

Yes, the zoom tool does the trick, but it isn’t as fast as a key command. Bummer.

Not that I know how but can’t you custom map your keyboard to do that?

Not quite the same, but CMD + will zoom incrementally to whreever your playhead or skimmer is located. Skimmer get priority FWIW…. FCP 7 would zoom to the selection, X uses the playhead/skimmer for focus…

If you hold the Z key while making the selection then let go after, the tool will automatically switch back to what it was before.
