Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro fcpX 10.1

I finally took the plunge while starting a new project and loaded up FCPX 10.1.1 and decided to hit a few tutorials on Lynda.com, now I realize their tutorials are of a prior version and with changes to FCPX 10.1.1 its a bit confusing.

Can anyone recommend a good FCPX 10.1 tutorial.

I shot a 5 day event using DSLR Canon 70D, GoPro’s and Tascam 60D and Zoom audio files. While transferring that media to portable hard drive on location I used a file structure for each day: DAY DATE / Camera Name / Reel 1, 2, etc. / Audio Name.

When I import footage and selected “Import Folders As Key Word Selection” I expected to see the same folder/file structure, instead it made a project for each day with all clips from each days DSLR and GoPros folder mixed together in the same folder. No Audio Files were included.

What am I doing wrong or is this the way it works. I’ve seen a few other tutorials but they present as if your already familiar with FCPX. I need a solid 10.1 tutorial that presents as if I’ve never used FCPX.

Geeez, what happen to the days of cutting video on a flatbeds with razor blade, magnifying glass and magnetic dust to line up the control track.
