  Magic Bullet Looks black preview frame on Final Cut x 10.1

  This issue first surfaced when I updated to Final Cut 10.1. What happens is when I try to edit the Looks of my footage, the preview screen is black and empty instead of the current frame I had. I see this happen when the effect is on top of other effects like another Looks effect, or Mojo effect. If it’s on the top (first effect), the preview is fine and brings my current frame in. Does anyone know if there’s anything I can try or if anyone has seen the same issue? I’ve tried reinstalling FCPX, Magic Bullet, trashing preferences, restarting, all to no luck.

  You’ve contacted Red Giant support? Last I saw on their blog, both Magic Bullet Looks and Pluraleyes had issues with 10.1 and they recommended you don’t upgrade until they get an update out.

  I did let RG know and they acknlowedged that they get the same behaviour. However, I wasnt provided with an ETA for a fix. I really wanted to try color grading after a custom LUT has been applied but this issue would not allow me to.
