Can’t download FCP 10.1
I’m running OSX 10.9.1 on this computer and have FCPX 10.0.9 installed, but software update won’t install 10.1 even if I offer to pay (though I think it’s supposed to be a free upgrade)…Am I missing something?

Try deleting your current copy of FCPX. Sometimes the App Store gets a little confused…

Is that as simple as trashing the application from the App folder or do I need to do something else.

You just need to drag it into the trash. I’d actually suggest you actually drag it somewhere else for safe keeping if you haven’t made a backup already. I had a project update go wrong and needed to revert to 10.0.9 to get things back on track.

I would suggest zipping up the current version from your Applications folder, then using launchpad to delete it.
