  • Setting destination for transcoding media

Is it possible to set the destination for transcoding media AFTER you’ve imported the clips in the event browser? I’ve logged the h.264 media, and would like to now transcode all of it to optimized media.

If I control-click, choose Transcode Media…, and then Optimize Media, it defaults to the Event folder on my local hard drive. There’s no “destination” option available. Is it possible to set the destination for this process to an external drive?

There’s no option for that, the files must go into the events transcoded media folder. You can move the event and project to the external. I think that’s your only option for getting the transcode files to go to the external.
