    Hi Guys

    I have been asked for a ProRes 422 HQ 1080i file for broadcast. (It’s a 4m 30s music video.)

Having produced the file, it is about 6Gb in size.

I’ve just had a look at other files on the companies FTP server and they are all around 1Gb in size, still listed as 1080p ProRes 422 HQ.

Any ideas why my file is so big? And how do I reduce it?

    Many thanks,

    Dan

Regular ProRes 422 would be about 4 gigs. I’m guessing the other files you’re seeing are shorter. A minute or less. That’s the only way you’re going to reduce it.

    Thanks Bret

I expected my file to be that large but was surprised at the other files’ sizes. However, when I started to download one of the files from the server, it turned out to be much larger than the 850Mb that was listed in the ‘file size’ column.

    Thanks again.

    Dan
