  Rename Folders in Project Library

  Apologies but cannot seem to find a simple solution to this for some reason. Done plenty of forum searching and can’t seem to find a straight forward answer to this.

  FCPX will not let me change the name of a folder in the project library. Is the only way to physically change it in the Final Cut Projects Folder?

  Have you tried the usual i.e trashing the prefs? You should be able to change the name of the folder just as you can change the name of the Project in the Project Library. It’s not recommended to mess with FCP X on finder level.

  Select the folder and press Return.

  I have found that if certain background processes are happening I can’t change names in the project library until they finish.

  Yup thanks…yes time seems to have cured it. Weird because folder had nothing to do with the project other than it was in the same Event. Actually that probably is the reason.
