  Transcoding RED footage will not translate

  I received RED footage that received its look in RED Cine X, but when I created a Proxy from the footage so I can work on it on the road. I have noticed the new look was not implemented in the proxy. Is this normal?

  Did you first make .RMD’s before importing your RED material in FCPX?

  It’s this RMD file which you should make BEFORE importing your R3D’s in FCPX, that makes changes in REDCINE X appear in FCPX (and vice versa).

  WeMakeMovies, Sam Mestmann, has great tutorials about working with R3D material in FCPX.

  I would say so since when imported the look was applied, I also looked at the videos and he does mention you can override the RMD by adjusting and cancelling out the RED settings in FCPX so it will revert to reimported RMD.
