Hi guys, I finished editing a project and after deleting, trimming, replacing
several clips my timeline looks like this:

All these clips above the cap are connected to the gap. Does anybody know
how can I connect them to the clip above the gap and disconnect this clip
(0393_2013_07_04_etc..) from the gap so I can delete the gap?

    Thanks for your time!

Connected clips can only be connected to the primary storyline. You cannot connect a clip to another connected clip.

If you want to get rid of your gap clip, what you need to do is drop the lowest connected clip back into the storyline (CMD+OPT+down arrow) and then the other connected clips will be connected to that clip.

And you can use the up arrow to lift clips out of the primary storyline as well. I find this helpful if I want to play around with a few clips without disturbing the timing of the primary storyline.

And please put in a request to apple to be able to connect floating clips to secondary story lines (I have already) as this is a limitation that causes real problems sometimes when deeper into a project that needs trimming or extending in places. The amount of time I spend resyncing clips to a secondary track because I couldn’t connect them to that secondary, which they were associated with in my edit, is annoying.
