I am having a hard time exporting avchd footage, or mts files that were converted to quicktime files. I made a 5-7 minute segment and exported on a .426 codec, however the quicktime player is showing my segment interlaced, when the viewer in FCPX is smooth and de-interlaced. How do I get my quicktime mov to be a smooth running segment?

    1. Select one of the clips in your Event Browser and check the Inspector. What do the settings of the file show in the info tab? Interlaced or progressive?

    2. When you say you work with mts files that were “converted” to quicktime, do you mean they ware just re-wrapped to QT or they were converted to ProRes? Was this conversion done in FCPX or by an external program?

You might also want to confirm your sequence settings. THe reason it is smooth in FCP X is probably because you are only seeing one field of teh information in the viewer.

You could use a deinterlace filter or have FCP convert the sequence to a progressive format.
