  FCPX timeline goes blank

  I was recently editing and duplicated from the primary storyline. After a couple of minutes where I had cropped and trimmed both the primary storyline and the composite (the duplicate one), the duplicated composite line and the primary BOTH disappeared from the Viewer and the thumbnails also vanished.

  See attachment. Has anyone else had this happen?

  Previously; I upgraded and installed the latest iOS and had attached my iOS device – I know this sounds petty but I thought I should mention it.
  FCPX 10.0.7
  MacPro running ML 10.8.2

  Starting to contemplate pulling out my hair at this point.
