how do people switch between clip skimming and timeline
Right, I’m curious as to different ways people switch between skimming in the clip area and getting back to the timeline.
It appears my default muscle memory action would be to simply click on the timeline because to move the playhead you used to have to click along the top of the timeline, but now clicking anywhere in the timeline moves the playhead to that point and this is buggering me up a bit because it is constantly moving the playhead to arbitrary points on my timeline.
If I have skim on (which I have off more often on the timeline as i don’t like it that much) then I can move my cursor over the playhead and click play and fine, or just click the playhead and the timeline is active and the playhead in the correct place. But this is quick cumbersome and slow.
In the clip area I can click below the thumbnail and it makes the thumbnail active and so doesn’t impact on where the playhead is. Which part of the timeline do people click on to make the timeline active without moving the playhead?
Also, where to people click to deselect a clip with a yellow edge? Again, I can click on the playhead but it is cumbersome and my old method of just clicking the timeline space is now redundant because the whole timeline space is alive to moving the playhead.
