I’m currently trying to animate a waveform to music using keyframes from the music file. I have used ‘wave warp’ and expressions to animate the height of the line. What I’d like to do next is to make the position of the line jump upwards (maybe by 50 pixels on the y axis) every time there is a noise on a silent track. I assume I have to write an expression for this. If anyone could advise me I would be very grateful.

Thanks, as always, for reading this.

The tutorials that Dave pointed you to are very good. Those and several other related resources are linked to from here. Check that page out and get a few different ideas.
