The new share menu is a great feature but I’m having one annoying problem with it. If I choose to add a compressor setting, I can access all the Apple presets but none of my custom settings are available. The dialogue tells me there are zero custom settings:

The custom presets are clearly there in my Users/username/Library/Application Support/Compressor/Settings/ folder where they have always been.

Anybody got any ideas what’s wrong?

    Thanks.

Hey Simon… check this thread from a couple days ago….

Sounds like the same problem, and the fix was…

I Fixed the issue. I went back into FCS remover and this time checked BOTH Compressor 4 AND Compressor 3, I guess for whatever reason some settings were still lingering from that. But after uninstalling completely and reinstalling, I can now see the Custom Settings in the Destinations under share for FCPX.

    Oops, missed that discussion.

    Thanks for pointing it out.

    I always love a good reinstall 🙂

(For now I’ll just use File/Send to Compressor which works just fine.)

Just curious, Simon, do you have 3&4 installed?

If so, where is 3 installed and where is 4 installed?

No, only 4 – and the FCS remover plus reinstall trick worked just fine. All functioning as it should now.
