  • Lost link to Final Cut Events folder

    Hi,

In an attempt to back up my Final Cut Events folder I have inadvertently lost the link between FCPX and the events folder (I renamed it, realised my mistake and changed it back again) so that when I open FCPX it is saying there are no Events on my hard drive, even though the Final Cut Events folder (on the Hd, under Movies) is full of events!!

Please tell me there’s a way of relinking the Final Cut Events folder on my HD to FCPX so that when it opens it imports the events??

Hope that makes sense and thank you in advance for any help! I seriously don’t want to reimport all the footage in an attempt to create new Events.

    Thanks

    Matt

I would just move all the events into a new “Final Cut Events” that FCPX made.

Remember on the startup drive it has to be in the movies folder in your user folder.

On external HDs it is on the root level.

I move events in and out of the Final Cut Events folder all the time no problems at all. As long as you don’t change the content of individual event folders this should work fine.

Your problem may be that FCPX only sees folders it made.

By the way only do this when FCPX is not running. When it is restarted it should see everything.

Ah right, that would make sense. I’ll give it a try, thanks so much.
