In FCP7, mixing clips was easy, if you wanted to make a water falls clip a little richer, just place 2 clips on two video tracks, move one a frame and mix at 50% each.
How can I do this in FCPC? Can’t find a clue…..

You could if you wish do it exactly the same way in FCPX. Put one clip on the primary storyline, connect the same clip to the head of it, shift it a frame, mix it by 50%.

    All the best,

    Tom
