Media Browser integration is slightly awesome.
We have a 350 gig and growing iTunes library of most of the major sfx and music libraries. In the past we would use iTunes to create AIF’s, then copy them over to the project folder we were working in, etc. It was very redundant and wasted tons of file space over the years.
Now, it’s so easy. Each mac has the same identical library. So I can sit in my office, do my music search into a playlist with a few tracks I really want to try out, export the playlist to a txt file, email it to edit 1 (or copy the file to a designated folder on the network), then have the editor import it into iTunes. Next time we open up X, there’s my playlist with music tracks all ready to go.
I don’t find x to be the best for massive music searches. Sometimes the sweet spot of a track doesn’t hit till 2 minutes in and X doesn’t allow skimming or FF, but that’s what iTunes is for.

I have to agree. I’ve always used iTunes to store and organise my production music and having access to the playlists from within FCPX is brilliant.
