Does anyone know what exactly this is? I’m hoping it’s the progressive alternative to interlaced NTSC? I had to rip some material off a DVD and then I deinterlaced it, and was then hoping to drop it into a progressive timeline (I’m going to be using a lot of motion and compositing) .  The project properties I’m using the FCPX project property of 720×480 NTSC with the 29.97p…will this give me a progressive output movie?

    Thanks!

Not sure what the question is. 29.97 is the standard frame rate for video broadcast in North America and Japan.

    All the best,

Yeah, I know that 🙂 what I’m trying to do is create a progressive timeline in fcpx…will creating a project in 29.97″p” produce this?

When using the custom settings in FCPX, you have the option to change the project properties from 29.97i to 29.97p….if I deinterlaced some 720×480 NTSC clips and placed in a timeline at the 29.97p framerate, will this give me a progressive timeline?
