The difference between keylight 1.2 and color key?
Hello, I’m trialing CS5 and I realized that the plugin Keylight 1.2 isn’t available for the trial. There is something called color key and it seems to work just the same…sort of. Is color key a valid form of chromo keying? It seems on most tutorials people use keylight 1.2.
Will I have to get the full version?

What is the difference between color key and keylight 1.2?
Color key seems to do what “chroma key” in Sony Vegas does.
What is the advantage of keylight 1.2? Is it considered the correct way to green/blue screen?Thank you.

Here’s a note from the official documentation for Color Key effect that should make it clear what our recommendation is:
“Note: Though the color keying effects built into After Effects can be useful for some purposes, you should try keying with Keylight before attempting to use these built-in keying effects. Some keying effects have been superseded by more modern effects like Keylight.”
