  Can’t key!

  I have a pretty large (5GB) clip, shot in front of a green screen. Every time I try to apply the Keyer to it, FCPX eagerly crashes. Which is to say that the footage is presently useless to me, and that my client is going to want to throw me off the top of a high building.

  Any suggestions will be hugely appreciated.

  What codec is the clip in? Does it Open OK in Quicktime 7 or X?

  Indeed. Sounds like a codec problem. I’ve had some h264 files crash FCP X.
