    Hi All,

1)I have completed a project in FCPX using Apple Motion Generators & Transitions. Now i have to rename the Apple Motion Template Folder. But when i use a different name, its showing missing Generator in other machines. So i have to re-link it after renaming the folder. Is there a way to do that?

    2) The Final Cut Project Directory seems too huge for me. Apart from the FCP file, what are the other files/folders we should copy? I have to put it in one DVD (FCP + Apple Motion Generator + Transitions). If the client copy the files to the same location of any other Mac system with FCPX, it should work..Pls help

    Regards,
    Praveen

In response to your second question, you can just remove the Render Files folder when copying projects, it can all be re-generated when the project is reopened.

    Praveen,

I don’t want to be offending or arrogant, but you don’t understand the principles.
Every template is stored on it’s very own file path inside the FCPX project.

If do you change anything within the Finder (or other) FCPX still tries to locate that file(s) on the FCPX internally stored path – which obviously is not possible because of the change. So you get some things offline.

If you try to transfer a project (plus event) to another machine or/and user you have to transfer the template path structure as well to the other machine and user. This way FCPX will find the original path.

    So the points are:
Never Ever Rename Some Template once you used it.
Send your client a copy of your “Motion Templates” with instructions how and where to install.
To make “transfer stuff” smaller follow the advice from Loren Risker.

You may try my Motion Template Tool which may give you some help – it’s free.

    Kind regards
    Andreas
