Hey Guys
Posted by Lem Assad on February 28, 2012 at 1:02 amHello Everyone,
I’ve recently lost all of my events directories… mysteriously.
So when i open FCP now all of my projects are there but all events are gon. So now all of my projects are disconected…Is there a solution because i’m really desperate if everything is not relinkable???
Thanks

February 28, 2012 at 4:41 amAre they gone from your hard drive? Because the Events contain the actual media so if they don’t exist, you’ll have to reimport. If you imported tapeless media, you should be able to manually connect items in your project to newly imported media (it may even relink automatically). However, if you digitized media from tape…you’re probably in bad shape.
If the events exist on the hard drive but FCP isn’t seeing them, you might be ok; you just need to point FCP back to it.

February 28, 2012 at 9:09 amThe file has to be named current project.
I had this happen to me on a couple of projects and I navigated to the folder level and renamed the project file “currentversion” at the project folder level.
If there is no “current version” then duplicate the backup and rename it current version in the folder.
After this FCP X could see and open the file normally.

February 28, 2012 at 1:42 pmThanks for the replies,
I didn’t know about Digital Rebelion tools, they look pretty sweet and cheap as well !!David, I don’t understand what you suggested, i do still have my projects, i’m only missing my events, which refers to my project.
So what i’ve tried is to re-import all the footages in a new event but FCP won’t automaticly resynchronize the shots and i don’t know how to manually achieve that. Any Clues?
Cheers
Mel.
