Issues with getting FCPX to even work…
Okay… I am in need of some assitence.
I have a new install of Final Cut Pro X, and almost everything works perfect, EXCEPT the viewer. I can not view anything Im trying to do. Everything looks like it’s importing correctly, like background renders are working perfectly, I can hear the audio crystal clear, but the viewer itself only shows me a still of static like you’d see on an old TV.
My system requirements look like they’re okay, I specifically cleared extra space of my hard drive, all my media files being used are on an external drive running USB 3.0, duo core processors, 2G+ processing speeds, etc, etc. My monitor is HD, running directly off the Mac via HDMI. I’m running on a MacMini using Snow Leopard, but according to the system requirements I’ve seen, I should be able to do this without any problem.
All the usual suspects Im seeing in other knowledge bases and forums seem to be covered. But I can’t find anywhere that the problem is the viewer won’t let me see anything at all. It’s not jumpy, it’s not sometimes, it’s nothing at all, all the time.
I’m at a complete loss. I’m admittedly a novice with this software, but not a stranger to video editing, although I’m not anything like a professional. (read: Please go slow with your answers, just in case)
So please please please give me your thoughts. I’m in fairly desperate need. Thankfully, it’s not anything I’m losing money on, but I do have imminent deadlines. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
