It seems like if I use the “Events on Second Screen” option, the clicking turns weird. For example, if I want to add “notes” to a clip in the Inspector when working with a clip in the browser on the second monitor, when I go to click the “notes” field, the clip is deselected and therefore the inspector is empty.

    Anyone else see this?

If I put the events back on the main monitor, it’s fine.

    Hi Jeremy,

I noticed something similar. I wanted to enter scene numbers for several clips at once. I selected them in the event browser and when I moved over to the inspector (the video tab was active and it said “4 items to inspect”) and clicked on the info tab the inspector window changed and said “nothing to inspect”
I used Digital Rebellions Preference Manager to trash the FCPX preferences and now it does work.
Maybe this helps for your problem as well. It seems related.

    regards,

That sounds like the exact same problem. I’ve trashed prefs, but let’s try again.

    Thanks.

I cannot replicate this on my system. Maybe try trashing prefs as suggested or re-install if you can.

A pref trash after my initial pref trash fixed it.

What’s weird is that a pref trash did not restore the original layout.

    Where’s that info stored?
