I thought this was very cool, and it has nothing to do with the update.

In the event broswer, you have the ability to hide rejected clips.

This isn’t just for clips, but for ranges as well.

Since my shop is tape based, I ingest entire 30 minute tapes. It’s just what I do.

That means I have interviews, b-roll, standups, all in my long clips.

I’ve been skimming through about 45 minutes of footage, including about 20 minutes of interview.

If I selected the range for the interview, hit the delete key to mark as rejected, select “hide rejected” in the broswer filter, and the long clips are broken up, hiding the long interviews showing me only the footage.

I’m sure there are other ways to do this, but I was impressed that in filmstrip view, the portions I marked weren’t visible. They were out of my way. If I adjust the thumbnail duration to “all” to show the entire clips as one thumbnail, the clips with the “rejected” not showing will show up as one or more clips depending on how many chunks of that long clip you “rejected.”

To remove the “rejection” I can simply set the browser filter to “rejected” to only show the rejected, then select U for unrate.

It messes up with ranges I’ve selected as favorites. I gotta think this one over, but it certainly adds more functionality.

Hide rejected is the default view in the Event Browser. I agree that it can be particularly useful for workflows that use large clips.

But I’m confused how it messes with favorite clips. Could you elaborate?
