The last couple of weeks I’ve not been able to reach this or any address within the creativecow.net domain. Anyone else with this issue? If not, it is likely a DNS problem with my ISP.

I’m here now, so I’d like to believe it’s fixed, but I got in a few days ago for a day and thought it must be fixed and then had the same problem again.

    Thanks,
    Dave

I switched from my ISP’s DNS to OpenDNS because I used to run into problems like you described.

    Craig,

I just “googled” OpenDNS. If I run into problems again, I’ll give it a go. It looks to be easy to set up:

    Mac OS X

    1. Go to System Preferences.
    2. Click on Network.
    3. Select the first connection in your list and click Advanced.
    4. Select the DNS tab and add 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 to the list of DNS servers.
    5. Click OK

I hate to fix things that aren’t truly broken (yet), but this appears to be a simple solution.

    Thanks,
    Dave

By the way, great discussion over here-

It’s simple enough to switch and switch back as desired.

    Craig,

Agreed. By the way, if anyone finds this post in the future and wants more info, this is the page I got the Mac Network Preferences steps from-
    https://208.69.38.205/

This page also outlines how to set up open dns at the router level (as well as Windows configs) so your whole home network is fixed all at once. Since I’m the only one accessing creativecow.net or having dns problems, I would likely just make the change via my own Network Preferences.
