“BG PIP(e) Dream”
This is an FCP X Effect preset.
This effects helps you create a Picture-in-Picture effect (PIP). There is already plenty of these types of presets been created by the user community. So this is just my take on it.

I could’ve sworn I had already made one. Well I had, just forgotten to get it out to the big wide world. I have built a few extras into this PIP effect that may also be handy.
– Resize the PIP frame using Mask Scale
– Give your picture a round edge
– Adjust the mask feathering
– Globally position / scale / rotate / shear the PIP effect
– Reposition / Reframe / Rescale / Shear the video within the frame
– Crop controls for each edge
– Crop feathering
– Give your PIP video a basic glow – with controls for glow type, amount, contrast and opacity
– Rescale the glow effect to enhance the glow effect
– Add a tint to the PIP video – controls for tint colour and tint blend modes
– Add a border to your image (note the border does not work with cropping – one or the other)
– And a drop shadow control has been added free of charge this time for your enjoyment.
– Keep stacking the layers up to control as many PIP layers that you may need.Screenshots:

* Please note than when resizing your video with the frame if you resize it too small it will be smaller than the mask, leaving a gap between the picture and edge of the mask.Drop the folder inside this zip called BG PIPe Dream into the following directory:
Movies / Motion Templates / Effects / BG Effects /

It would be even better if you could scale the shape of the mask with x and y values.
